IZOLYATSIA
Synopsis

«Isolation» is the name of Europe's largest torture center. This name comes from the Donetsk plant of insulating materials. The factory ceased to exist after the collapse of the USSR. In the early 2000s a center for contemporary art was created within its walls. The art center was destroyed in 2014 by pro-Russian guerillas. Factory cellars have turned into torture chambers. Those who came out alive testify to this. It is a film about dehumanization. About how a person loses all his bearings and becomes a monster.

The torture center "Isolyatsia" in Donetsk became famous thanks to the book of Stanislav Aseyev who spent two years in this hell. After Aseyev's book many believed that "Isolyatsia" is a separate crime. But there are no separate crimes. On February 24 everything came out. The task of the film is to convey that war criminals should appear before an international tribunal. What happened and is happening in Ukraine can happen anywhere. "Isolyatsia" is a film about how dehumanization occurs.
